SARASOTA, FL-June 26, 2017- The Suncoast Center for Independent Living (SCIL) in Sarasota celebrates the 27th Anniversary of the Americans with Disability Act (ADA) on Wednesday, July 26th, 12:00 Noon-1:30PM at SCIL,3281 17th Street in Sarasota.

Winn Dixie-Store #654 of Sarasota- will receive the SCIL ADA Empowerment Award in recognition of their unselfish service and outstanding contributions on behalf of SCIL.
Jennifer Corinis, Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Florida, is the special guest speaker. Her practice focuses on Civil Rights enforcement, primarily involving the ADA. Rodger Cline, Operating Director of Fat Daddios Pizza, 3251 17th Street, Sarasota, will address the benefits of ADA compliance for businesses as the event’s other guest presenter.

The signing of the Americans with Disability Act in 1990 was a critical step in the forward momentum of Centers for Independent Living across the country.
