Advocacy

SCIL provides information and assistance for people with disabilities and their families in promoting change when faced with barriers and discrimination in accessing support systems, benefits, and services such as:
  • Applying for disability
  • Assistance in the appeals process
  • Discrimination
  • Information on Medicaid benefits and housing
  • Self advocacy

Information and Referral

Provides information about disability related topics and referrals to community resources to people with disabilities and the general public.

Peer Mentoring

Provides peer support groups for people with like disabilities to support each other and also individual peer mentoring.

  • Helpers and Achievers Transition Support group

 Wheelchair Ramps

SCIL builds portable modular wheelchair ramps for individuals with disabilities allowing access, safety, and independence. 

Computer Loans

SCIL loans refurbished computers and other computer related components to people with disabilities.
WITH ALL OF OUR SERVICES AND PROGRAMS, WRITTEN REQUESTS FOR ACCOMMODATIONS, AS REQUIRED UNDER THE ADA, MUST BE MADE A MINIMUM OF FIVE  DAYS IN ADVANCE TO SCIL’S OFFICE
